Was not thick and shapeless as your recipe says and never rose. Did I buy the wrong kind of East? The back of the package says simply add to dry ingredients. No need to hydrate in water no proofing required. What kind of instant yeast do you use? This is anthony’s instant dry yeast packets each packet is seven grams

I imagine that you didn’t add any xanthan gum to the recipe, Paula. My flour blend does not contain xanthan gum, and you need to add the proper amount to each recipe when you’re using a flour blend that doesn’t contain it.
