Cookin' up a cookbook
So you may have been wondering, “What’s up with that cookbook?” (if you haven’t been wondering at all, and you think I’m having delusions of grandeur, be kind and permit me my delusions). Well here’s the skinny.
A couple of months back we had our 2nd and final photo shoot (see photos above and below). Then it was back to writing. And baking. And writing some more. So there hasn’t been too much to report. Until now. We have a few hints about what to expect — and when to expect it.
I submitted the first draft of the manuscript to the publisher in late Spring. Now I’m expecting their editorial comments later this month. At the same time, the publisher is working on a cover design and other elements. They recently shared a book description for their advance sales catalog. Here’s what I can tell you right now:
• Title: Gluten Free on a Shoestring
• Publisher: DaCapo Press, an imprint of Perseus Books Group, New York
• Expected release date: March 2011
• Recipes: over 100 brand-new dishes, including lots of gluten-free breads, desserts, comforting dinners, vegetarian meals and more
• Tips & Tricks: lots of money-saving tips on gf shopping, filling your pantry the right way, how to “piggyback” one meal or dish off another to save time and money, etc.
• Price: comfortably under $20 (see title above)
So that’s where things stand. Gluten Free on a Shoestring should be in stores — and hopefully in your kitchen — early next year. In the mean time, here’s a look at some outtakes from the last photo shoot. Hope you enjoy them…
Warmly,
Nicole

Hi, Theresa,
Thank you for the kind words! I hope it all goes well, too (crossing my fingers for edits that are manageable in a few weeks!).
Warmly,
Nicole
