I am generally not a fan of stockpiling (or of buying things just because they’re on sale), so I understand what you mean. I think it’s often a function of how much baking you do. I’m glad you found something that works for you. I’m happy you found us, too!

Happy to find your blog. Gluten free can be frustrating and disappointing. Love the recipes and tips! Like many, my family is on a tight budget…so any pennies saved…

However, I noticed that many of the gluten free products are actually less at my local health food store than Amazon….and I don’t have to stockpile….So much easier in budgeting…. I’m a big fan of shopping local whenever possible…I know I’m lucky to have a local store that takes gluten free seriously! I am sure many do not have any other options..but hope that we don’t lump all health food stores together as being overpriced!

Not to steal Amazon’s thunder, but you can also order directly from Bob’s Red Mill. Which would not necessarily be a big deal, except that unlike most other outlets they’ll sell the GF all-purpose flour in 25 pound bags: http://www.bobsredmill.com/gf-all_purpose-baking-flour.html?&cat=120

For me it came to well under $2/lb including shipping, though UPS costs will vary by distance.
