OMG!
Yet another great cookie recipe. I am in cookie heaven and going to eat myself to death! LOL
I recently stumbled across this website and have been baking your recipes like crazy for the last couple of weeks. I am so happy that there is someone like you out here to do something like this. My taste buds and food cravings thank you!

Hi, there, Cari,
It's so nice to hear from you. I honestly don't think you need me much, though! Your own instincts are dead on. Every one of your comments bears that out. I'm happy to have your company, so I hope you keep coming back, but really you're on your own two feet all the way. :)

Warmly,
Nicole

Wow!!! Please send a thank you to Brian!!!!

We've been eating the Cream Hill Estates Lara’s Rolled Oats (since I ended up with about 9 pounds!). It's 'ok'. It seems very finicky. I do 1 cup water to 1 cup oats and its pretty gewy. I can't make 2 cups water and 2 cups oats at the same time - comes out like glue.

I thought I'd try the Bob's Redmill next since they have that at our Whole Foods. But I'll compare prices Brian gave! If anyone finds a fab(ulous) oatmeal-oat - I'd LOOOOOVE to know! Or for that matter... another great breakfast that will tide me over like oatmeal does.

LOVE YOUR BLOG Nicole!!! I tell all my friends about it! One day I'll say, "I knew this blog BEFORE they were famous!" =) A million thanks for inspiring me and demystifying GF for me!!!!

Hi, S,

My husband, Brian, did a bunch of research. This is what he came up with:

Gluten Free Oats (that's the brand name)
Amazon: 4 x 20 oz package: $19.75
= 25 cents/ounce

Amazon: 3 x 41 oz pk: $25.75
= 21 cents/ounce

Gift of Nature
Amazon: 44 oz pk: $12.98
= 30 cents/ounce

Cream Hill Estates
Amazon: 8 x 1.1 pounds: $36.85
= 26 cents/ounce

Amazon: 4 x 2.2 pounds: $34.65
= 25 cents/ounce

Bob's Red Mill
Amazon: not in stock
Direct from Bob's:
Rolled oats: 4 x 32oz: $24.38 + shipping
Steel cut: 4 x 24oz: $19.99 + shipping

I hope this is helpful!

Warmly,
Nicole

did you ever find out more about gf oat prices. We tend to use Bob's Red Mill. I know many use McCann's without a reaction, but I know they don't test them, so it's a risk. Which ones are the best deal???

Oh thank you and please send a thank you onto your husband for me! I asked while in the bulk section of Whole Foods and he said they were out... I could keep bugging them. Or ask them to start carrying it.
Well either way, I'll have 8 pounds of oats now to carry me through! =)
Many thanks!

Hi, Cari,
My husband, Brian, is on the case. He's going to research this for you and report back. We know that there are now 5 companies that make reliably gluten free oats, so we should be able to find something less expensive (although they will always be more expensive than conventional oats, at least until the concept of truly gluten free oats really catches on and becomes more available, since many people are very skeptical that there is such a thing as gf oats). You should also post this question on the facebook fan page to "crowd source" there!
Warmly,
Nicole
